Become a Member of the SCA
The SCA does not require participants and volunteers at its events to be members of the Society, however holding membership does carry several benefits, which are:
- Automatic subscription to the Kingdom newsletter which contains announcements, officer reports, event information and contacts for all groups within the Kingdom.
- Having membership will allow you to hold officer positions.
- Membership will allow you to compete in Crown/Coronet/Viceroy tournaments as a combatant or their consort.
- Membership will offer you discounted entry fees at some events, where specified.
- Membership entitles you to a vote and a say in how the society is run at any level.
Holding membership means contributing towards your local and regional groups and to the Society as a whole which in turn makes the experience better for all of us.
Membership within the Kingdom of Drachenwald, is called “International Membership” as the Administrative Headquarters of the Society are based in the United States. This membership is currently set at an annual charge of:
$35 for a single member
Members may purchase family memberships for one additional adult and any minors (aged 21 and under) residing at their address at a cost of $10 per family member ($25 maximum)
You can join for one year and renew annually, or you can pay up to 3 years in advance. When registering you will be asked for your Shire and Kingdom of residence to enable the US headquarters to determine which newsletter you should receive free with your registration.
Membership can be bought online at https://membership.sca.org. Once processed, your membership card will be sent to you in the post. If you urgently need to demonstrate membership, you can print off a Proof of Membership letter which can be used while waiting for your card to arrive.
